Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving is a harvest festival and very popular in the USA.It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. The tradition of thanksgiving goes back almost 400 years. In 1620 a group of English people called Pilgrims crossed the Atlantic Ocean because they wanted a better way of life. They landed on the coast of what is now Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

In 1621, the Pilgrims gathered together to have a special meal and celebrate their good fortune. So is a holiday to espress thankfulness, gratitude and appreciation to God, family and friends.

Nowadays, North Americans of all ethnic and religious backgrounds celebrate this holiday. It is a usual custom to have a big family meal with traditional foods such as roast turkey and pumpkin pie.
